NEWS: New Strange Man installment The Boogie Man now released on Steam and Playism

Playism, publisher of The Strange Man along with other cult indie games, has announced that the third title in its ongoing RPG horror series, developed by Uri Games, is now available on Steam and through its website. Fans that enjoyed its previous release, The Sand Man, and those who enjoy the niche genre of RPG horror titles may find the game compelling.

The latest installment in The Strange Man, following up from previous titles The Crooked Man and The Sand Man, presents the story of a detective on holiday with his wife. In traditional horror fashion, the game’s titular monster soon appears and the death count begins to rise. As he is still traumatised from his sons death, the game’s protagonist, Keith, is compelled to act, facing off against the Boogie Man in a game of cat and mouse to protect everyone he can.

The game promises hardcore violence and gruesome deaths fitting of both its series and its genre. The Boogie Man trailer, viewable below, shows off the game’s horror style, and it’s traditional graphics similar to the previous games of its series, interspersed with classical horror imagery; a bloodied hand, a ghostly castle and writing on walls.

While The Boogie Man appears as a derivative of a saturated indie genre, previous games in the series have shown to be worth a look  and as it is part of an ongoing series, it will probably be hard to miss for those who are already invested, and for fans of RPG horror’s particular niche, especially with its low asking price.
